Amahl and the Night Visitors
Gian Carlo Menoti’s Amahl and the Night Visitors. This 55-minute operetta sung in English tells the age-old story of the three kings following a star in the dead of winter, their encounter with a shepherd boy and his widowed mother. Through the generosity of the community and Amahl’s willingness to send the messiah his most precious possession, the kings realize the true meaning of their quest.
This family friendly is a collaboration of Insight Chamber Players, Faithful Fools, Skywatchers Ensemble, and the First Unitarian Universalist Society of San Francisco. We are united in making music available to our entire community, especially introducing new audiences to this old holiday favorite. Tickets are on a sliding scale and all are welcome.
