Cellist David Finckel and pianist Wu Han bring more than a quarter century of partnership to an all-Russian recital. Celebrated as performers, educators, and artistic leaders, the husband-and-wife duo is known for chamber music in which lyricism, virtuosity, and close ensemble communication carry equal weight.

The program opens with Myaskovsky’s Cello Sonata No. 2 in A minor, a work inspired by Mstislav Rostropovich’s memorable advocacy of Prokofiev’s music. Prokofiev’s mercurial Cello Sonata in C major follows, and Rachmaninoff’s expansive, rhapsodic Cello Sonata in G minor completes the program.
