Downtown First Thursdays with Big Freedia

Big Freedia brings New Orleans bounce to Downtown First Thursdays, San Francisco’s free monthly street party. The November gathering takes over Second Street between Market and Howard with music, DJs, dancing, drag performances, food trucks and local shopping. Big Freedia appears at the Howard and Second Street stage, joining a neighborhood-wide celebration that invites visitors to explore several blocks of downtown.
Known for an energetic performance style and a distinctive voice heard on recordings with Beyoncé and Drake, Big Freedia has helped introduce bounce to audiences far beyond New Orleans. The artist’s recent releases include the hip-hop album Central City and the gospel project Pressing Onward. Admission to the street party is free with RSVP.
