Raised in Mumbai and originally intending to work as a software engineer, Kumar discovered the blues after moving to the United States. His distinctive “Bollywood blues” sound folds retro Indian music into American blues without losing the character of either tradition, reflecting more than two decades of work in the San Jose music community.
