Isaiah Collier: “Collier Plays Coltrane”

Chicago saxophonist, composer and arranger Isaiah Collier presents Collier Plays Coltrane, connecting the tenor-saxophone tradition to his own forward-looking approach. Raised on Chicago’s South Side, Collier describes himself as a “sonic scientist” and is a member of the Association for the Advancement of Creative Musicians.
His honors include Chicagoan of the Year in Jazz, recognition in the DownBeat Critics Poll and Jazz Journalists Association, and coverage by The New York Times and NPR’s Jazz Night in America. He leads the ensemble The Chosen Few and has collaborated with leading artists across contemporary jazz.
