Lucas & Arthur Jussen Piano Duo Recital
Dutch brothers Lucas and Arthur Jussen are among today’s leading piano duos, admired for energetic, closely coordinated playing and refined sound. Their Stanford recital features music written for two pianos and piano four hands, moving from Romantic intimacy to the rhythmic force of early modernism.
The program includes Mendelssohn’s Allegro Brillant, Schubert’s Fantasia in F minor, Milhaud’s Brazileira from Scaramouche, and two major orchestral works adapted for the duo: Ravel’s La valse and Stravinsky’s The Rite of Spring.
