October 3 @ 7:30 PM PDT
Malcolm Gladwell with Lisa Armstrong
BAR Pick

Malcolm Gladwell returns to examine one of America’s deadliest and most polarizing issues: gun violence. In his new book, The American Way of Killing, he investigates the paradox of a wealthy country that continues to experience high rates of violence, tracing its origins through revealing stories and offering a hopeful vision for the future.

A finalist for both the National Book Award and National Book Critics Circle Award, Gladwell is the author of influential books including Outliers and The Tipping Point. His work has expanded public conversations on subjects ranging from criminal justice to human consciousness, and his podcast Revisionist History explores overlooked and misunderstood stories.

Gladwell appears in conversation with Lisa Armstrong, a journalist whose work has appeared in The Intercept, Rolling Stone, and The New Yorker. Armstrong is also a professor at UC Berkeley.
