Oakland Black History by Photographer Carl Posey

February 1 - February 29

Oakland Black History by Photographer Carl Posey featured at IDIL VICE boutique

During the month of February we are spotlighting Native Oaklander photographer Carl Posey’s work from his time in Oakland before he left and continued his three decades long work and career in New York City and his work since his return to Oakland.

The focus will be on Oakland and the Bay Area specifically and include some of his early music portraits for album covers of Del The Funky Homosapien and shots of Tupac Shakur (images recently featured in the “Dear Mama” Film by Alan Hughes) as well as MC Hammer and so much more! There will be several events with the photographer present for signing some one of a kind artworks for sale exclusively. Follow IDIL VICE on Instagram @idilvice for more details.
