Musical Story Time with the Berkeley Public Library Story Time Band
Founded in 2013 by children’s librarian Michael Kwende (“Mr. Michael”) and retired librarian and guitarist Tim DeWolf, Berkeley Public Library’s Story Time Band transforms books into lively, interactive experiences through live music, storytelling, movement and audience participation. The ensemble also features library specialists and musicians Juan Castille and Donovan Russell, along with keyboardist Tienne Lee.
This free series at The Freight invites children ages 2–7 and their caregivers to sing, dance and enjoy read-aloud stories together. Performances take place Sept. 3, Oct. 1, Nov. 5 and Dec. 3 at 10:30 a.m.; doors open at 10 a.m.
