Oh, Mary!
Starring international drag superstar Alaska Thunderf*ck as Mary Todd Lincoln and Tony Award winner J. Harrison Ghee as Mary’s husband, Oh, Mary! is a dark comedy about a miserable, suffocated Mary Todd Lincoln in the weeks leading up to Abraham Lincoln’s assassination.
Unrequited yearning, alcoholism and suppressed desires abound in this 80-minute one-act play, which examines the forgotten life and dreams of Mrs. Lincoln through playwright Cole Escola’s gleefully irreverent lens. The production received two Tony Awards, including Best Direction of a Play, and was a Pulitzer Prize for Drama finalist.
