One Song All Night: Fleetwood Mac’s “Dreams”
The Freight’s One Song All Night series devotes an entire concert to Fleetwood Mac’s “Dreams,” the Bay Area-recorded classic whose spare pulse and hypnotic melody continue to invite reinvention. Five artists approach the same song from entirely different directions, revealing how much possibility can live inside one familiar structure.
Evie Ladin’s MoToR/dance, Terrence Brewer, Rip Room, Adrienne Shamszad and MeloDious each reshape “Dreams” through their own musical language—from body percussion and jazz guitar to art punk, Iranian-American roots music and soulful vocal experimentation. Heard side by side, the versions turn repetition into discovery and show how interpretation can transform mood, rhythm, meaning and memory.
