Sons of Champlin w/ Bill Champlin

Bay Area originals the Sons of Champlin return with Bill Champlin for a performance blending rock, jazz, soul and R&B. Formed in Marin County in 1965, the horn-driven group became part of San Francisco’s Fillmore and Avalon Ballroom scene and built a reputation for ambitious arrangements and high-level musicianship.
After releasing seven albums between 1968 and 1977, the band reunited in the late 1990s and has continued performing for its devoted following. The current show draws from the songs and sound that made the Sons of Champlin a distinctive part of Bay Area music history.
Performance: Sunday, September 6 at 7 p.m.
