Richard Elliot
Chart-topping, Grammy-nominated saxophonist Richard Elliot brings his soulful and bluesy blend of jazz, R&B, pop and rock to Yoshi’s Oakland. The Scottish-born, Los Angeles-raised and San Diego-based artist has scored more than 20 Top 10 Smooth Jazz singles and multiple No. 1 Contemporary Jazz albums.
Elliot’s four-decade career includes a five-year stint with Tower of Power, work with Natalie Cole and the Pointer Sisters, and collaborations with Motown legends Smokey Robinson, The Temptations and The Four Tops. His latest album, Straight Up Down, highlights the lyrical melodies, tight grooves and expressive tenor sound that have defined his career.
