BLACKNIFICENT

Kedrick Armstrong conducts Oakland Symphony in BLACKNIFICENT, a program centered on people who have been oppressed or marginalized and the faith found in their stories. Pianist Clayton Stephenson is the featured soloist.
The concert includes music from Rameau’s Les Boreades, Damien Geter’s Piano Concerto No. 1, Nina—an Oakland Symphony BLACKNIFICENT 7 commission—Irene Britton Smith’s Sinfonietta, and Gershwin’s Catfish Row from Porgy and Bess.
