The Azar Lawrence Experience
Internationally celebrated saxophonist, composer and bandleader Azar Lawrence brings his spiritually charged sound to the coast. Rooted in the expansive jazz tradition and propelled by contemporary energy, the ensemble highlights music from Lawrence’s album Turn the Music Up.
Lawrence has performed with McCoy Tyner, Miles Davis, Freddie Hubbard, Woody Shaw, Elvin Jones, Buster Williams and Pharoah Sanders. For this appearance, he leads a seven-piece group featuring vocalist Lynne Fiddmont, trumpeter Brian Swartz and a powerful rhythm section.
