Christian McBride’s Ursa Major
Bassist and composer Christian McBride returns with Ursa Major, a quintet built around some of the most exciting young players in jazz. The group features tenor saxophonist Nicole Glover, guitarist Ely Perlman, pianist Mike King and Oakland-born drummer Savannah Harris.
McBride is an 11-time Grammy Award-winning bandleader and recording artist whose collaborations span jazz, roots, pop and classical music. Ursa Major gives the ensemble room to combine swing, groove and open-ended improvisation across two SFJAZZ performances.
