Gustavo Castillo: Lines of My Destiny
Gustavo Castillo: Lines of My Destiny traces the artist’s journey from the Garifuna community of Honduras to San Francisco. Castillo uses intricate linework to portray members of the Garifuna community and Afro-Latino cultural icons, connecting personal migration, heritage, and community memory.
Most of the works in the exhibition were created with a simple ballpoint pen, demonstrating how an everyday tool can produce richly detailed portraits. The exhibition is presented in AAACC’s second-floor Nia Room.
