John Pizzarelli Presents “Dear Mr. Bennett”
Grammy-winning producer, guitarist and vocalist John Pizzarelli celebrates Tony Bennett’s centennial with a program inspired by Bennett’s music, friendship and enduring influence. Pizzarelli’s new album, Dear Mr. Bennett, draws on a family connection that began when Bennett worked with his father, guitarist Bucky Pizzarelli.
The trio brings Bennett’s repertoire into an intimate jazz setting, with pianist Isaiah J. Thompson and bassist Mike Karn joining Pizzarelli. Bennett’s own sketch of Pizzarelli became the album’s cover art, adding a personal touch to this musical tribute.
