Drummer and composer Sunny Jain leads Wild Wild East, a band where Punjabi dhol, surf guitar, Bollywood melody, jazz saxophone, and cinematic Western atmosphere collide. The project reflects Jain’s perspective as a first-generation South Asian American artist and turns multiple musical inheritances into a propulsive contemporary sound.

The group’s Smithsonian Folkways album launched the label’s Asian Pacific America series and drew international acclaim for its scale and rhythmic force.
