Sunny Jain’s Wild Wild East
Sunny Jain’s Wild Wild East imagines a new kind of frontier music: Bhangra drums collide with surf guitar, jazz saxophone, Bollywood color and the widescreen atmosphere of a spaghetti western. Led by the Red Baraat founder, the band turns South Asian rhythmic energy into a vivid, genre-bending live soundtrack.
Between songs, Jain uses storytelling to examine the American cowboy myth through an immigrant lens, asking who gets included in familiar ideas of the West. The music answers with exuberance—dhol-driven grooves, bold melodies and explosive ensemble interplay. It is both a celebration and a reframing of identity, transforming personal and cultural history into a wild, danceable vision of America.
