This week on Fridays Live we celebrate the 5-year anniversary of Kenny Garrett’s Sounds From The Ancestors (originally released on Mack Avenue Records on August 27, 2021). This concert was originally filmed and aired during the 2023 San Francisco Jazz Festival and features pianist/keyboardist Keith Brown, bassist Jeremiah Edwards, percussionists Rudy Bird and Melvis Santa, and drummer Ronald Bruner (of Kamasi Washington’s band).
