Lydia Pense & Cold Blood

Lydia Pense & Cold Blood bring their horn-powered blend of funk, soul and R&B back to Yoshi’s Oakland. The group emerged during the Fillmore era, when promoter Bill Graham signed Cold Blood to his label after hearing Pense’s commanding voice and the band’s distinctive sound.
Along with Tower of Power, Cold Blood helped define the Bay Area style known as East Bay Grease. Albums including Cold Blood, Sisyphus, First Taste of Sin and Thriller established a catalog that the band continues performing today.
Performance: Wednesday, September 23 at 7:30 p.m.
