Come From Away
Berkeley Playhouse presents Come From Away, the acclaimed musical inspired by the true story of thousands of airline passengers diverted to Gander, Newfoundland, after the September 11, 2001 attacks. As the small community welcomes strangers from around the world, uncertainty gives way to friendship, resilience and an unforgettable display of humanity.
Written by Irene Sankoff and David Hein, the musical pairs a folk-rock and Celtic-influenced score with an ensemble story about ordinary people meeting an extraordinary moment. The Berkeley Playhouse production is directed and choreographed by William Thomas Hodgson, with music direction by Michael Patrick Wiles.
Accessibility performances include an audio-described and haptic-access performance on February 21 and an ASL-interpreted performance on February 28.
