Kuma Sagar

Kuma Sagar is a rising Nepali singer and songwriter celebrated for blending traditional Newa melodies with modern music. Born and raised in Bhaktapur, his journey into music began at a dafa, where he accompanied his grandfather to play traditional instruments such as the Khing baja. Early exposure to Newa bhajans and community music fueled his passion for the craft.
Sagar’s debut song, “Bajeko Bajang,” recorded on his mobile phone, marked the start of his professional journey. He is celebrated for revitalizing Malla-era melodies and traditional instruments such as the dha, flute and bhusyah. His music celebrates Newa culture, bringing vibrancy to festivals and jatras.
